James Baugh
Founder and Lead Forecaster
Like a mason building a brick house, it took several different events for James Baugh to come up with the foundation for his future. Jim can recount a family trip to Tennessee for a family members funeral in 2006 when he was 11. The first night of the trip, during a tornado outbreak, a tornado touched down just two blocks from the motel they were staying at. That tornado was never officially reported. "If I was as old as I am now, and knew what I know now, I could have reported that tornado and helped improve the forecasts and reports. As well as help save any lives that were threatened had it been a more populated area" James stated several years later. The latest brick was added In July of 2010. After copious amounts of rainfall blanketed the Chicago region James and his family were the victims of severe flooding. There was much damage caused to the structure of his residence as well as a loss of a magnitude of personal items.
During the clean-up process, in a tote buried in a closet, James found a photo from a kindergarten "What do you want to be when you grow up?" day. At the time, Jim wanted to be a weatherman. He would later decide during his grammar school and high school years to instead pursue culinary arts particularly because of a fear of even the lightest thunderstorms.
After finding this picture, and then meeting soon to be mentor Eddy Weiss, a renowned storm chaser and disaster response expert as well as the founder of C4L & Associates, Jim decided that he would again follow his interest in the weather and quickly began his ability to calm his fears and instead study the storms and their always different nature. From that point forward, James began to take every opportunity to learn about the weather and its effects on people. Jim heeded his mentor's advice and took multiple online certifications in addition to schooling.
Here are some of James' credentials:

If you sell accessories we may be interested in or provide mechanical parts or repair services, contact us today to see how we can work on sponsorship opportunities as our vehicle encounters countless people in disaster scenes as well as in route to them.
